YouTube will now show you the ‘most replayed’ sections of a video

YouTube just gave everyone access to another feature that was previously only for YouTube Premium subscribers. A new graph on the progress bar in both the web player and mobile apps will show the “most replayed” sections of the video.

This feature should help you find the most popular parts of any video, allowing you to skip through any “dead air” kind of situation. One of the better examples of this feature would be using it to skip directly to the how-to section of a video.

“When you start seeking, you’ll see a graph above the red progress bar. If the graph is high, then that part of the video has been replayed often,” YouTube explains in the support documentation.

Sounds good, right? Well, we have some concerns. How will this impact YouTube’s creators, in terms of monetization and metrics like hours watched?

If everyone is skipping to specific sections,

5 Reasons You Want Your PowerPoint to Grab its Audience – Information Technology Blog

Listen to Audio

When it comes to giving presentations, Microsoft PowerPoint is an excellent product that is also quite simple. PowerPoint is a wonderful choice if your presentation requires a visual kick, capabilities for collaboration, quick access, or the capacity to share material beyond the first meeting. It can also minimize the anxiety associated with public speaking by diverting attention away from the speaker and onto a screen. However, you should not anticipate using this technology will replace having sound and dynamic speaking skills.

Amazon’s Fire 7 tablet has 10 hours of battery and USB-C charging

Amazon just quietly refreshed the Fire 7 tablet. The biggest change is the promise of longer battery life, at a slightly higher price of $59.99.

The increase in battery life to nearly 10 hours of playback will be a welcome one. That’s up to 40 percent more battery life than the prior Fire 7 tablet and should provide many people enough charge for all-day use.

The other changes made are also under the hood. Amazon says it has a new quad-core processor that’s 30 percent faster, so it should be more responsive in use. Amazon has doubled the RAM to 2GB. The charging port has also been changed to USB-C, from the dated micro-USB port it used to have.

The screen and the camera are both unchanged, with a resolution of 1024 x 600 for the screen and 2MP front and rear cameras for 720p video recording.

Autonomous vehicles hit cyclists and cars in new AAA test

Aside from electric vehicles, self-driving automobiles are the most talked about advancement in vehicles these days. But new research shows that there is still a lot of work to be done and that we’re not quite ready for fully autonomous vehicles on the road.

The American Automobile Association (AAA) recently performed a series of tests to determine the capabilities of three different self-driving automobile systems. Testing found that the three systems hit about a third of every cyclist and failed to avoid any oncoming cars.

AAA ran its tests on a 2021 Hyundai Santa FE, a 2021 Subaru Forester, and a 2020 Tesla Model 3. Each vehicle has its own level two autonomous driving system.

Level two means the vehicles have self-driving features but require the driver to remain alert and ready to take over at any time. There aren’t any vehicles currently registered above level two in terms of
